In the spring of 1993, St. Louis Park, Minnesota, began transforming how the community viewed its young people. Children First was born out of a partnership among the education, faith, city, health, and business communities.
The focus of this partnership?
To encourage everyone in the community to find ways that made sense of them to help in the healthy development of our infants, children and teens.

The 2008 Parktacular Parade on June 14, featured Grand Marshalls who represent partners involved in making St. Louis Park a “100 Best Community for Young People.”
Children First’s unit included some of the Super Heroes featured in the Champions coloring book. More than 1,000 coloring books were distributed at the parade.
