Professional Expertise
Patsy Roybal is a professional trainer, facilitator, and education consultant with knowledge and experience in the areas of effective parent engagement in schools, cultural competence, and leadership development. Patsy has over 20 years experience working in the area of parent involvement. She has developed culturally appropriate parent empowerment training programs as well as customized training modules for educators and community organizations. Patsy has the ability to deliver bilingual (English/Spanish) keynotes, presentations, and workshops.
Contributions to Search Institute
Patsy is one of the newest members of the Search Institute Training Team contracted primarily because of her experience in promoting the assets message to parents, youth, educators, and Spanish-speaking communities in Colorado. She has facilitated presentations on the 40 Developmental Assets for the past eight years to diverse communities across the state of Colorado and at several national conferences. Patsy has been very successful in connecting assets and culture, primarily in her work with Spanish-speaking parents.
Professional History
Prior to becoming an independent consultant and starting her own private business, Families for Excellence in Education, Patsy was the Director of Education Programs for the Colorado Statewide Parent Coalition, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure equitable educational opportunities for all students in the state of Colorado. The organization focuses primarily on closing the achievement gap and providing training and technical assistance to schools and school districts in creating effective home-school partnerships for the purpose of increasing student achievement. Previous positions include:

- Family Resource School Coordinator, Denver Public Schools
